The Big 3

#1) Christmas Eve Offering for Compassion Childcare

As a church, we have a tradition of taking a special Christmas Eve offering to support Compassion Childcare. Compassion exists to strengthen working poor families. They have a two prong approach to preaching and teaching the Gospel. First, to the children each day through worship and bible reading and secondly, to the parents through case management, resource classes, housing programs, and meals. Currently, Compassion has expanded a preschool inside of our church walls which provides Christian teaching daily to preschoolers who may not otherwise be able to afford it. Please consider giving on Christmas Eve to this special organization.

#2) VBS Save the Date

Treasured Vacation Bible School will take place at First Evangelical Free Church on Sunday, July 25th through Thursday, July 29th from 6:15pm-8:45pm.  Ages 3 to 5th grade can attend and we will need a bunch of volunteers.  Looking forward to another year!

Adult Sunday School: A new adult Sunday School class on Galatians has begun! We are exploring the Apostle Paul's passion for trusting solely in the gospel of Jesus Christ for our salvation as we study his letter to the churches in Galatia. The class is running until February 28 in the Fellowship Hall. We hope to see you there.
Gordon Carlson’s 100th Birthday: Longtime member Gordon Carlson will be celebrating his 100th birthday on December 20th! If you would like to record a video greeting for Gordon, please send it to .  If you are interested in participating in a Zoom call with Gordon, send a message to this same email address. His mailing address is 4312 W. Creekside Circle #114, Sioux Falls, 57106.  He is on Facebook as Gordy Carlson.
Thank You from Cindy Stewart:  Due to the passing of my mother, Elsie Stewart we thank you so much for your prayers, support, phone calls, texts, cards, and memorial gifts to the church and the Gideons. This has meant a great deal to us and has helped us make it through. Thank you—Cindy, Dave, Kathi, and Greg
Thank You from AWANA: A HUGE “thank you” to everyone that donated items to the AWANA store and have volunteered to wrap gifts. We wish we could tell each of you individually, but so much was dropped off and some of it we weren’t sure who left it. We are so grateful and blessed to be part of such a giving and supportive church!! --Craig & Chris Herman
Thank You from Sue Norberg: Many Thanks to the First E Free family for your help and support of the Children’s Christmas program. We appreciate the extra effort it took to have children attend rehearsals. The children did a wonderful job! Thank you to everyone that helped behind the scenes as well. To God be the glory!
Change in Food Allergy Practices: We know that some people in our church family have food  allergies. We love and care about those with allergies, but we are unable to guarantee our church building will remain free of all foods that cause allergies. Instead, much like schools, we will deal with allergies on a case-by-case basis. Therefore, we will no longer prohibit peanut products from our building. We are able to record food allergies in our church software program, so if you have an allergy that you would like us to know about, please contact the church office.
“Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.” (Rom. 12:10) We have many in our church family who are vulnerable to the novel coronavirus or cannot risk infection. If you are sick, please stay home and join our Sunday Morning Worship livestream. When you come to church, please wash your hands often, cover your cough, and maintain 6’ physical distance between families. We also encourage you to wear a mask anytime you cannot maintain 6’ physical distancing.
